For those interested in history there are lots of picturesque towns and villages to visit, Domme, Sarlat-la-Canéda, Cahors, Rocamadour, St Cirq-Lapopie, are some favourites.

There are also many beautiful churches, castles, museums and prehistoric caves, like those at Grottes de Cougnac with paintings dating back 25,000 years, all are within a short drive from Le Meyranes.
If more activity is required, fishing (tackle can be hired for €7 per day), walking, and cycling are very popular, as is horse riding.
For the really adventurous canoeing, kayaking or boating are available on the rivers Dordogne and Lot. Also quad biking and hot air ballooning.
